Bacon wrapped Oreos are an over-the-top, sweet-and-savory treat everyone will want to try at your next party. They’re easy to make, too. You basically wrap the Oreos in bacon, then smoke them until the bacon turns crispy. The bacon fat infuses into the cookies and takes them way over the top. Serve them as an appetizer or place a toasted marshmallow between two for an out-of-this-world smores. You’ll never forget it!

Need an easy dessert recipe for your next party? got you! This is a super easy recipe that I’ve seen online a number of times, and had to try for myself.
I was pleasantly surprised with how good these were and how great the flavors all came together. And really, I call it a dessert recipe because of the cookies in the recipe, however this would be the perfect appetizer or finger food to setup out for your next part or tail gate.
Why you’ve got to try these Bacon Wrapped Oreos
- Guaranteed conversation starter – everyone will want to try them
- Super simple dessert recipe for the non-bakers
- Can be made outdoors so you don’t have to leave the party
- Makes the best smores!
Equipment
To make this snack, you’ll need:
- Sharp knife for slicing bacon
- Smoker
- Wire rack

Ingredients
This is a really simple list of ingredients to make this easy dessert recipe. Simply: Bacon, Oreos and Seasoning, is all your need. I cooked this in my smoker because I enjoy the flavor of the smoke and it worked really really well with the sweet and savory flavors of the bacon wrapped cookies- however if you want to use your oven you can do that as well
- Oreo Cookies
- Bacon slices: These will need to be sliced in half.
- Queen Bee Honey BBQ Seasoning: The flavors from this BBQ rub are perfect for this recipe – it adds a layer of sweetness on top of the salty/savory taste of the bacon and they come together perfectly.

How to Make Bacon-Wrapped Oreos
- Preheat oven or smoker to 250F.
- Slice your slab of bacon in half. Take a little bit of care to make sure that you’re slicing these as evenly as possible. That will make it easier as the recipe goes on to make sure that everything cooks evenly and is done roughly at the same time.
- Wrap on half slice of bacon around an Oreo cookie, being careful to leave the seam on the bottom so they cook without unwrapping.
- Liberally season with Queen Bee Honey BBQ seasoning.
- Place in smoker at 225F for 25 minutes.
- Increase temperature to 400 for 8-10 minutes until bacon is dark amber color, but not burning
- Remove from heat and allow to rest for 5 minutes minimum before serving

Pro Tip: Use a wire rack
Use a wire rack to help cook the Oreos evenly as each piece goes onto grill / smoker/ oven at the same time, and comes off as well together.
Think about this – let’s say you’ve got 20 bacon wrapped cookies that you’re smoking. If each one of them takes 20-30 seconds to place onto the grill – that could mean a difference of 5 cooking minutes from the first one put on to the last one. That’s a huge amount of time when cooking at higher temps like this recipe. As much as 20-25% of the entire cooking time.
Storing Suggestions
You technically can store the leftovers, but the cookies will begin to crumble from the added moisture. It’s best to eat them up right away.
If you do end up with leftovers, store them in an airtight container lined with a paper towel, and refrigerate for 3-5 days. To reheat, either bake in the oven (or pop in the air fryer) to warm up the bacon.
Tips & Variations
- Wait before eating. After they cook, the Oreos WILL be hot. I promise you this. I’ve burned my mouth on them a number of times. Allow them a few minutes to cool down, and save your taste buds to enjoy another.
- Try different Oreos. It seems like there are hundreds of different types of Oreos out there these days. I suspect this bacon wrapped Oreos recipe would be great with golden Oreos. Peanut butter Oreos probably work great, too. Feel free to give other flavors a try, but let me know how it works in the comments!
- Use the oven. You don’t necessarily need to cook these in the smoker. You can use your oven, or even your grill if you can control the temps and make sure it stays steady to ensure an even cooking for this easy dessert recipe.
- Sweeten them up. For extra sweetness, feel free to sprinkle the bacon with brown sugar and maple syrup for a sweet rub.
How to Serve
These Oreos make a great sweet treat to enjoy after a cookout or you can serve them as a fun appetizer. We like to serve them with golden brown marshmallows for the best Bacon Wrapped Oreo Smores. Seriously good!
FAQs
What type of bacon is best for bacon-wrapped Oreos?
Since you want the bacon to cook pretty quickly, I usually use regular bacon, not thick cut bacon. You can use any flavor profile you like.
Do you have to use Oreos?
Honestly, this method works with other types of cookies too. Oreos are a great option since the cream filling tastes great with the bacon, but you can try this with your favorite cookie.

I’ve done these, they are very good. I like a little dollop of whipped cream on them.
