Imagine serving a dish at your party or tailgate that is unique, and familiar at the same time.  These bite sized pieces of deliciousness are the perfect snack for any time.

Let’s Prep:

Jalapeno Popper Pigs in a Blanket here we come!

As always – Prepare your ingredients ahead of time and have everything out on your workspace before starting.  After that – it’s all a breeze.  Pro tip here is to make sure that your cream cheese has been left out on the counter for at least an hour to make sure that it’s softened.  You can also do this in the microwave as well if you’re under a time-crunch.  Prep your bacon as well ahead of time.  You can cook this the day before even and chop either then, or as you’re putting it all together – the power is yours to determine how and when you make this since it can be made in multiple parts.

Let’s Cook:

Once you have all of your ingredients prepped and put together, it’s time to bake.  First thing to think about is do you bake in the oven, or in the smoker?  This recipe can be done either way.  If you don’t have a smoker – NO PROBLEM!  This is just as delicious coming out of the oven.  Once you have all of your cream cheese mixture complete and your lil smokie is in place – it’s time to wrap in the crescent dough and roll up.  It’s just that simple.  Lay them down on a baking sheet, and brush with a little egg wash, and you’re ready to bake.

Let’s Eat:

Once these bite-sized pieces of amazing food are done cooking, you’ll know this because of the golden brown color for the crescent dough.  The dough is the indicator here.  The smokies will warm and cook in more than enough time, so gauge your doneness off of the dough and you’ll be in great shape here.

PRO TIP:  Once you’ve gotten them out of either the oven or smoker, just like you’re making cookies – take them off of the hot baking sheet so they don’t continue to cook and potentially burn on the bottom.  Crescent dough will get very, very hard before it burns, so it’ll be inedible that way too.  Keep an eye on them, and follow the recipe, and you’ll be in great shape!
