Pro Tip for the perfect appetizer: – any Italian Seasoning will work – but this is the one I use and love This recipe is one that will make everyone happy! It doesn’t matter if the kids are asking for an afternoon snack, or you’re having your friends over for a party or to watch the big game. Appetizer, or Main Dish – it doesn’t matter this is the one you want!
Let’s Prep:
To get started on this awesome appetizer, let’s gather all of our ingredients. For the dough, as you’re prepping, take the dough out of the fridge about 10 minutes before you’re going to use it. Leaving it on the counter for that amount of time is fine and the temperature won’t rise enough to put it in the food safety danger zone.
Using premade biscuits for this recipe makes this appetizer recipe a snap. Line up all of your biscuits on a clean work surface and do this in assembly-line fashion for efficiency. Start by making 2 full cuts across the biscuits to shape them into quarter pieces. Then flatten each piece out between 2 pieces of parchment paper using the bottom of a heavy glass, or the palm of your hand. This is where leaving the dough to warm beforehand comes in handy – the dough flattens easier.
Let’s Cook:
Cooking the perfect appetizer!
Make this really easy on yourself and build your pizza bites on the baking sheet itself. This prevents you from having to move each piece individually. From the bottom up – pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, Italian Seasoning, then 2 slices of pepperoni (or your desired topping).
Space these out as evenly as possible and make sure that there’s room on all 4 sides. Depending on the quantity that you’re making this might be easier than other times. Don’t let them tough or overlap. This will result in the food not cooking evenly with some parts being overcooked, and some being under cooked.
Let’s Eat:
When this delicious appetizer or snack comes out of the oven, let them cool just long enough so that you don’t burn your hands. Then dig in! This is delicious with a marinara sauce to dip in, or even ranch or hot honey!
There are many different ways to vary this appetizer recipe by changing the toppings to your preference or how you serve it.
