Snack time doesn’t get any better than this! These Cool Ranch Cheez Its are a flavor fusion that you’re going to want over and over again. This is a super simple and absolutely fantastic combination of two of my favorite snacks of all time: Cool Ranch Doritos and Cheez Its.

If you’ve ever had spicy ranch Cheez-its before, then you probably already understand the appeal, but these are even better.
You don’t just get that zesty Ranch flavor, you also get an extra oomph from the Cool Ranch. It really tastes like you doused Cheez-Its in a bag of Dorito dust.
Plus, you just need a box of Classic Cheez Its, a couple packs of tangy ranch seasonings, and a few spices. This may just be the perfect snack – perfect for game days, movie nights, road trips, and any moment in between.
If you love Cheez-Its, don’t skip this recipe for Dill Pickle Cheez Its either. Prefer Doritos? These Cool Ranch Crusted Pickles are next level. We’re in the future of snacking here and you cannot go wrong.

How to Make Cool Ranch Cheez Its
- Start by making your seasoning mixture and set aside.
- Next, pour the Cheez Its in an aluminum pan and thoroughly cover with melted butter.
- Liberally cover your buttered Cheez Its with the seasoning.
- Mix, season, and repeat until everything is well-coated.
TIP: Imagine me saying this loudly: You cannot over season these!!! You won’t be disappointed with a huge rush and burst of flavor that you’ll taste when they are done!

Storing Suggestions
Once cooled, store the leftover Cheez-its in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days. They’ll start to soften over time but the flavor is best in the first couple of days.
Tips & Variations
- Try different snack crackers. Obviously, there’s nothing better than Cheez-its, but you can certainly use this mixture on popcorn, oyster crackers, club crackers, and more. You can also use white cheddar cheez its for an extra cheesy flavor profile.
- Spice ’em up. Add red pepper flakes (or a few dashes of hot sauce to the butter mixture) for an extra kick.
- Use a sheet pan. If you don’t have an aluminum pan, you can also use a half sheet pan lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
How to Serve
Honestly, these make a great snack at BBQs, potlucks, and parties, but we also like to keep them on hand all the time. They’re a snack time must-have and are nice to have around for after school snacks.
FAQs
Do you have to use Ranch seasoning packets?
You can either buy the packets or a big container of tangy ranch seasoning from Costco or wherever, but you need at least one of these products to get that iconic ranch flavor. Just combining different spices doesn’t do it; you need the buttermilk powder and all the other ingredients.
Can you use other brands of crackers?
Absolutely. Original Cheez Its are iconic, but there are lots of different brands out there. Feel free to use whichever brand you prefer.
Can you make a larger batch?
Yes! If you’re hosting a big party, make a double batch to have plenty for everyone. Just be sure to use two pans to help the Cheez Its bake evenly.
