How to Make It

Step 1: Preheat and Prep

Preheat your oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat if you don't have a nonstick baking sheet. Get your assembly line ready with three bowls: one for the flour (mixed with garlic powder and black pepper, and cayenne), one for the beaten egg, and one for the crushed Cool Ranch Doritos (combined with cayenne powder for a little kick).

Step 2: Bread the Pickles

Pat the pickle slices dry with paper towels—this step is key for getting the coating to stick. Dip each pickle slice into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat it generously in the crushed Doritos. Press gently to make sure the coating sticks. Place the breaded pickles on your prepared baking sheet.

Step 3: Bake to Crispy Perfection

Pop the tray into your preheated oven and bake for 12 minutes total, flipping the pickles halfway through. You’re looking for golden, crunchy perfection.

Step 4: Make the Ranch Dip

While the pickles are baking, whip up the ranch dip. In a mixing bowl, combine buttermilk, sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and refrigerate until you’re ready to serve.

• Customize the Heat: Love spicy? Add more cayenne to the Doritos mix or sprinkle in some chili powder.
• Crush Like a Pro: For super fine Doritos crumbs, use a food processor or seal them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
