I like to use this texas toast garlic bread pizza method because it’s easier than rolling dough, and each slice turns into mini pizzas in minutes. My whole family loves these personal creations, and I can quickly pop them into my air fryer or oven. The result is always golden brown, with gooey cheese on top.

Ingredients for pizza bread on a wooden surface: a bowl of tomato sauce with a spoon, a package of New York Bakery Texas Toast garlic bread, a bottle of Italian seasoning, Hormel pepperoni pack, and shredded cheese on a blue plate. Getting ready to make garlic bread pizza

Ingredients / Tools You’ll Need

  • 8 slices of Texas Toast Garlic Bread, frozen
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 40 pepperoni slices (plus extra if you like more)
  • 8 tablespoons tomato sauce or marinara sauce
  • Pizza seasoning or italian seasoning to taste

You’ll need a baking sheet (or cookie sheet) for the oven approach. Alternatively, a toaster oven or air fryer works if you’re short on time. I also keep parchment paper and an airtight container handy for easy cleanup and leftover storage.

Instructions

Preparation:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. Arrange your frozen slices on a baking sheet for about 5 minutes, just to thaw and begin cooking.
  3. This helps ensure your Texas toast pizza will have a crisp edge and garlic butter flavor.

Cooking:

  1. Pull the bread out, and top each slice with tomato sauce or marinara sauce.
  2. Sprinkle shredded cheese, add pepperoni (or your favorite toppings), and finish with a dash of italian seasoning.
  3. Return the Garlic bread pizza to the oven for 8-10 minutes, until everything is perfectly golden brown and bubbly.

Serving Suggestions:

  1. Let each Texas toast pizza cool for about 6-8 minutes, so you don’t burn your mouth on all that melted cheese.
  2. Serve with extra favorite pizza sauce or a side salad to make it a simple meal.
  3. I also like to offer mini pepperoni for those who want a smaller portion of toppings on each individual slice.

Recipe Notes & Pro Tips

You can replace tomato sauce with bottled spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce in a pinch. This simple garlic bread pizza recipe is great for busy weeknights, and even a good school snack or quick meal. If you have a french loaf or pre-made Texas toast, the method is similar, and you’ll get a result just as tasty as french bread pizza.

For the crispiest finish, try making these garlic toast pizzas in the air fryer. Just reduce the cook time to about 6-8 minutes, and you’ll have hot, ready personal pizzas in a flash. It’s one of those easy recipes that makes me think of a better version of pizza hut, but homemade.

In place of pizza sauce, you can use a layer of sauce made from barbecue or pesto for extra variety, and change things up! Feel free to add Italian sausage, pepperoni slices, or even chunks of fresh veggies on top. I store extras in a half size zip lock bags placed in an airtight container so they stay fresh for next time.

Additional Tips

I love how each slice of Texas toast pizza looks like a Garlic bread pizza version of a french bread pizza, only crispier. It’s the best part when you bite into that seasoned butter flavor. Trust me, it has a ton of flavor that beats a standard crust.

If you want to make a smaller portion, cut each piece in half before baking. This transforms them into mini pizzas that work well as a party favorite or school snack. Using fresh garlic or garlic powder can also dial up that savory taste if you really want more zest on the top of the toast.

For an easy way to control portions, measure out about a cup mozzarella cheese for every 4 slices. Then top each slice of toast with your chosen meats, like Italian sausage or mini pepperoni, and some veggies for a healthier spin. These delicious recipes also reheat well in a toaster oven on busy weeknights.

Variations

Try brushing a little olive oil on the top of the toast for extra crunch, or add garlic powder if you’re a die-hard garlic lover. You can also turn these into quick snack bites by cutting each Texas toast pizza into quarters. Another option is sprinkling fresh parmesan for a ton of flavor that’s different from your typical pizza hut style.

If you’re a planner, make a big batch, then freeze them in half size zip lock bags to have a quick meal on hand. Put parchment or wax paper between each individual slice so they don’t stick. When you’re ready to eat, just heat them back up in a toaster oven or air fryer.

I use pre-made texas toast from the freezer section, which saves me time. Each slice is layered with a quick spread of butter and herbs that forms a perfect crust. All I have to do is add cheese, toppings, and sauce, and it feels like a perfect recipe every time.

Using fresh ingredients like tomatoes and basil can add a gourmet spin if you want more than just pepperoni. But even with minimal toppings, these garlic toast pizzas shine. They have that garlic Texas toast flair that everyone adores.

Storage and Reheating

If you have leftovers, wrap them tightly in parchment paper or store in an airtight container. This helps preserve the garlic toast crust and that golden brown crispiness. Pop them in a toaster oven for a few minutes the next day, and they taste just as good as new.
