Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • Easy recipes like this one mean less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the day.
  • It’s fully customizable—use your favorite savory toppings to make it uniquely yours.
  • These cheesy, golden bites are like a mix between a regular pizza dough and buttery biscuits.

Ingredients / Tools You’ll Need for the Heart Shaped Pizza

  • 8 pieces of biscuit dough (like Pillsbury or any brand from the grocery store)
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Your favorite additional toppings (pepperoni, olives, bell peppers)
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • Large baking sheet or cookie sheet
  • Parchment paper or non-stick spray (or non-stick baking sheet)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Start by preheating the oven to 350°F. This is key for perfectly golden biscuit crusts.
  2. On a clean, flat surface, gently flatten each piece of biscuit dough just enough to fit your heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  3. Use the cutter to press out heart shapes. Gather the dough scraps and repeat until all the dough is used.
  4. Place the dough hearts on a greased or parchment-lined cookie sheet.
A heart-shaped red cookie cutter filled with white dough sits on a textured wooden surface. Some dough spills out from the bottom, creating a tail-like shape.

Cooking

  1. Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce over each heart, making sure to cover just the top without spilling over the edges.
  2. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  3. Add your favorite additional toppings. I personally love a combination of mini pepperoni and a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  4. Place the sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the biscuit dough is cooked through.
  5. Remove from the oven and let them cool for about 5 minutes.
Small dough pieces topped with red sauce and shredded cheese are arranged on a gray tray, ready for baking. Some of the cheese spills over the sides of the dough.

Serving Suggestions

These heart shaped pizza biscuits are perfect on their own, but if you’re feeling extra fancy, pair them with a marinara dipping sauce. Serve them warm for the ultimate cheesy experience.

Recipe Notes & Pro Tips

  • For the best results, make sure your biscuit dough is at room temperature before you start. This makes it easier to work with.
  • Want extra cheesy goodness? Add a mix of cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack, and mozzarella cheese for a gooey topping.
  • A large skillet or cast iron skillet can be used instead of a baking sheet if you’re going for crispy edges.
  • Cover any leftover biscuits with plastic wrap and refrigerate—they’ll reheat beautifully in the oven.
