Ingredients / Tools You’ll Need

I always start with 1 LB of bacon trimmed of any loose fat for the best texture. I mix 1 C Buffalo , 2 tablespoon sweet bbq sauce, 2 tablespoon honey, and 1 teaspoon black pepper mix in a large bowl. My trusty tools include an airtight container, a wire rack or baking sheet, and a paper towel for prepping the bacon.

Instructions

Preparation

I begin by trimming any loose fat from the bacon to ensure a lean start. I then make my marinade in a large bowl by combining honey buffalo sauce, hot sauce, and sweet bbq sauce for a perfect balance.

Cooking

I pour the lb bacon mix marinade over the bacon in an airtight container and let it marinate overnight. In the morning, I twist each slice into Bacon Twists, making sure each one is coated in the sauce mixture. I preheat my smoker to 400°F and arrange the Bacon Twists in a single layer on a wire rack before smoking them for 45-60 mins.

Serving Suggestions

I serve my Honey buffalo Bacon Twists with homemade sauces like ranch or blue cheese, that perfectly complement the dish. They pair wonderfully with chicken wings or crispy wings for a full flavor experience. I also drizzle a little hot honey and hot wing sauce over the top for an extra burst of flavor.
