If you want something that hits like comfort food but comes together fast, this Texas Toast Chicken Parm is one of my go-to moves. You’ve got crispy garlic bread as the base, juicy chicken tenders pressed right into it, then everything gets finished with marinara and melted mozzarella. It’s simple, but it eats like something you’d order at a restaurant.

A person holds a blue and white plate filled with several pieces of crispy, golden-brown fried chicken tenders over a wooden surface.

This one came from just messing around with stuff I already had on hand, and it turned into something I keep coming back to. The garlic bread adds a ton of flavor right out of the gate, and pressing the chicken into it makes it feel like one solid, loaded bite instead of layers sliding around.

It’s perfect for a quick dinner, game day food, or honestly just when you want something cheesy and satisfying without overthinking it.

Why You’ll Love It

This Texas Toast Chicken Parm is easy to throw together and uses ingredients you can grab anywhere. It’s crispy, cheesy, saucy, and comes together in under 30 minutes.

A hand holds a thick slice of golden, toasted bread over a baking tray. In the background, a person wears a black shirt with food-related illustrations.

It also scales really well. You can make a small batch or load up a whole sheet pan depending on how many people you’re feeding.

Ingredients And Tools

You’ll need frozen Texas toast garlic bread, cooked chicken tenders, marinara sauce, and shredded mozzarella cheese. That’s the base, and it works every time.

For tools, just grab a baking sheet and an oven. Nothing fancy here, which is part of why this recipe is so easy to repeat.

A person uses a spoon to press into the center of a slice of toasted bread on a baking sheet, while other pieces of toast are nearby. The person is wearing a dark shirt with white graphics.

How To Make It

Prep

Preheat your oven according to the Texas toast package instructions, usually around 425°F. Lay the slices out on a baking sheet in a single layer.

Bake the garlic bread for a couple minutes less than the full time listed on the box. You want it just starting to crisp up, but not fully done yet since it’s going back in the oven.

Cook

Once the bread comes out, let it cool for a minute so you can handle it. Take your chicken tenders and press them down into each slice of garlic bread so they kind of lock in.

Spoon marinara sauce over the chicken, spreading it out just enough to cover without soaking the bread. Then top everything with a good layer of shredded mozzarella.

Two slices of bread topped with tomato sauce, breaded fried chicken, and shredded cheese sit on a baking tray. A person wearing a dark shirt with food illustrations stands behind the tray.

Place the tray back into the oven and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and everything is heated through. If you want a little extra color, you can broil it for the last minute or two.

Serve

Pull them out and let them sit for a minute before serving. The cheese will be hot, and this gives everything a chance to settle.

These are great on their own, but you can serve them with a side salad, chips, or even cut them into smaller pieces for an appetizer-style setup.

Serving Tips And Variations

If you want to switch it up, try using spicy chicken tenders or adding a little parmesan on top before the final bake. Pepperoni is also a solid add if you want to lean into more of a pizza vibe.

Three slices of bread topped with meatballs, tomato sauce, and shredded cheese are baking on a tray in an oven.

You can also drizzle a little hot honey or balsamic glaze over the top right before serving for something a little different.

Pro Tips

Don’t overdo the marinara. Too much sauce will make the bread soggy, and the goal here is to keep that crispy base.

Press the chicken into the bread while it’s still warm so it sticks better. That helps everything stay together when you take a bite.

Keep an eye on the second bake. Since everything is already mostly cooked, you’re really just melting cheese and bringing it all together.

Four slices of toasted bread topped with crispy fried chicken, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese are arranged on a blue and white plate on a wooden table.

Wrap-Up

This Texas Toast Chicken Parm is one of those recipes that just works. It’s quick, it’s filling, and it hits all the right notes with crispy bread, saucy chicken, and melted cheese.

If you’re looking for something easy that still feels like a full meal, this one’s hard to beat.
